How do elite athletes and successful people stay on top of their game? That’s right – they have a coach to help them be the best they can be. So who is helping you stay on top of your game?
My clients get great results by putting into practice the NLP Coaching techniques I teach them. This got me to thinking about how sharing some of these tools could help you in your life. So I thought I might share with you different ideas, hints and tips each week that will help you improve the areas of your life and business that need some work!
The first question is this: Is this your year to shine?
Have you ever gone into a grocery store to pick up ‘a couple of things’ without a list? I know I have many times and every time I walk out with items I didn’t really need and I end up spending more money than I needed to!
How many of us wander through life without a list of what we really want and then get distracted and end up somewhere at the end of the year where we didn’t really want to be? I know a lot of my clients who become exasperated with their lack of direction.
So do you want to know how to create your ‘life list’?
What do you really want to achieve this year? To start your ‘life list’ you need to divide your life into the areas you want to improve such as: health, career, money, sex and relationships. Then start with one area and write down exactly what it is you want.
This may sound basic and you might be surprised how many people miss out this step. You know you want your life, business or relationships to be better. How much better? What specifically do you want? Not many of us would go on a holiday without working out where they want to get to so why is it alright to just meander through life wondering when it will get better?
When writing your ‘life list’, it is important to be very specific. If it is a new relationship, what type of character do you want? What interests do you want them to share and what do you really want out of the relationship? The same principles apply for money, health and career. It isn’t enough to want ‘more’ – is $1.00 more ok? Probably not! So you need to be clear on what it is you really want so you can then start moving towards it.
If you do this you will get more clarity on your direction and each week we can build on that. I imagine that would be a useful thing, wouldn’t it?
Next week, I’ll share with you another tip so you can start moving forward to a better way of life.
Then stay tuned as each week I’ll share information with you on a variety of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques including how to handle stress and anxiety. I’ll also share ideas about how to design your future and get what you really want out of life. Improve your confidence, your business, your presentation skills and your relationships!
It may be fun and sometimes even a little crazy – and with a background in theatre– I won’t be able to help myself!
And in the words of Henry Ford, ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t, you are probably right’.
So sit back folks and enjoy the ‘coach’ ride!
Bye for now
