The Four Hour Work Week – Really?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Have you read the book “The Four Hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferriss? If not, you really need to. It’s the best business book I’ve read in the last 3 years.

The entire concept of the book (and Tim’s philosophy) is that most business owners get stuck working IN their business, and not ON their business.

It’s a fatal flaw that will kill your business and your enthusiasm.

We also get stuck IN our lives and stop working ON making our lives work the way we want them to.

The solution of course  is to learn a unique discipline that enables you to think, communicate and manage others more effectively.

If you want to be able to communicate better with your boss, your staff or your customers so you can earn more then NLP techniques are exactly what you need.

Thanks for a brilliant course Jonathan and Deb! The results are really cool. I taught 4 of my 50 staff anchoring, eye patterns and buying strategies and they are turning over 200% – 300% more than they used to. Within one week of implementing what I learnt on the course, I made the cost of the course back.  Thank you.’     Lisa Boorer – Brisbane

Hypnosis Gold Coast Style!

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

What does Hypnosis feel like?

What does it feel like when you are falling asleep?  What does it feel like when you allow your mind to wander and daydream? Well that’s what it feels like in hypnosis. It’s a nice physical and mental feeling of total relaxation. There are different levels of hypnosis. Light hypnosis feels very much like your normal waking state, as you go deeper you feel more relaxed. I guess the worst part is having to come out of it!

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state also known as a ‘trance’ like state.  Everyone enters that state many times per day.

Have you ever been driving somewhere and you can’t remember the road you just travelled on?

Well you were in a light state of trance…

Have you ever read a paragraph of a book and then had to re-read it because you zoned out?

You were in a light state of trance then too…

What about at a meeting?  Have you ever taken on that glazed looked and zoned out?

Of course you have and you were in a light state of trance …

It is a state where the critical/judging part of your conscious mind is by-passed, to some degree, and because of this, suggestions given at this time are more likely to ‘stick’ in your mind and take effect.

We spend most of our waking hours in full conscious awareness.  In this state, our mind is attentive and uses logic to reason, evaluate, assess, judge, and make decisions.  Unfortunately, when making life changes, such as breaking bad habits or changing negative thoughts, the conscious mind often gets in the way.

In the Hypnotic State, the doorway between the conscious and the unconscious is opened, memories become easily accessible, and new information is stored.  In the Hypnotic State, you are not really “thinking” in the traditional sense.  You are “experiencing” without questioning, without critical judgment or analysis, like when you watch a movie, or when you are day dreaming.

In this state a hypnotherapist can make suggestions that are very likely to “stick” – precisely because your conscious mind is not getting in the way.  You are not “judging” or being “critical” of the suggestions.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Only those who choose to be and those who have enough mental capacity to follow directions, can be hypnotised.

Although we all spend time each day in that state we call hypnosis, in order to be hypnotised by someone you must want to go into hypnosis and follow the hypnotist’s direction to the letter

You are in control. You can choose to let yourself relax or not.  There is no hypnotist on the planet who can hypnotise you against your will.

What if the hypnotist makes me do something I don’t want to do?

Some people have a concern that someone is going to put suggestions into their head that they don’t want? Or make you dance around like a ‘chicken’.  Remember your conscious mind is by-passed to some degree, but not totally, you are always aware at some level of what is being said and YOU CHOOSE to accept it or not.

Some people have a slight fear of the hypnosis or of the ‘unknown’. But really it’s not unknown. We go into that state when we fall asleep, when we awaken, or when we are focused on one task, like driving or reading a book.

What Can Hypnosis Be Used For?

Hypnosis is used for many things. Here are some of the more common things:

  • Anxiety
  • Bed Wetting
  • Confidence
  • Insomnia
  • Libido
  • Pain Control
  • Phobias
  • Relaxation
  • Self Esteem
  • Sports Performance
  • Stop Smoking
  • Weight Loss

Warning: Are your thoughts ruining your life?

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I’m not sure if you know that statistically we have about 90,000 thoughts going on in our head every single day.  That’s a lot of thoughts!

So many self help books tell us to think positively.  While I agree in part, how do you monitor that many thoughts per day to ensure they are positive?  The truth – well you just can’t.

Other books tell you to stop focusing on negative thoughts or the things you don’t want.  How do you achieve this exactly?

If I told you to think about anything for one hour, except for a white polar bear, what you will find is that the bear will spring to your mind many times over that hour.  Not sure?  Then why not experiment with it.   For the next hour, think of anything except a white polar bear!

So why is it that the very thing you don’t want to think about is so present in your mind?  Well, in order to ‘not think’ of something, you first have to think about it, then negate it in your mind and think about something else.

Here’s the real problem:  If you are thinking about ‘not’ being something or ‘not’ having something you don’t want, you are actually projecting that into the environment around you and you end up getting more of what you don’t want.

How is it that angry people seem to attract other angry people and get into fights that the rest of us ‘non angry’ people seem to avoid?  Because they are projecting thoughts based on anger into the world around them.

If you tell someone who is on a diet, not to have chocolate, they are more than likely to consume more as a result.  However, tell a person on a diet to eat more vegetables and that’s where their focus will be.

The more negative thoughts you have (and try not to have) the more damage you may be doing to your life, both internally and externally.  It can affect your health and your ability to move forward.

So why not learn how to let go of negative thoughts, emotions, beliefs and doubts that prevent you from having your life the way you want it.

NLP & 2010 – what’s really ahead?

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

So it is a fresh new year and for some a fresh new start.  A time to say ‘goodbye’ to the old ways of 2009 and to create a new you in 2010.  As I sit here on my computer (not literally of course), I’m wondering how many of you actually ‘clear’ out all the emotional baggage from the previous year.  You know, all those things that hold you back from having your life exactly the way you want it.  Such as, negative emotions, doubts about your abilities, lack of self confidence, fears, bad habits etc.

How many of you carry that emotional baggage with you year in and year out?  Pushing issues that you don’t want to deal with to the back of your mind, only to find them reappear at the most inappropriate moments.  Then you start a new year with the best of intentions and set resolutions for the year ahead, only to feel bitterly disappointed when you don’t achieve them.

Why not let go of that emotional baggage once and for all?

Imagine if you were travelling with a suitcase full of stuff and issues you don’t want.  It is heavy, it wears you down and prevents you from moving as fast as you would like.  It prevents you from doing all the fun and exciting activities you really want to do because you are carrying this bulky suitcase with you.  Would you continue on your journey like this?  No of course you wouldn’t.  You would soon find a way to chuck out all the stuff you don’t want and probably buy a backpack and only carry those things that you really need and want.

So what’s the difference?

When you think about it logically – there is little difference.  Just like off loading contents from a suitcase you don’t need, you can easily let go of emotional issues that have been holding you back.  How?

  1. Book a personal one on one coaching session that can be done either in person, over the phone or via Skype, or
  2. Attend a ‘Design Your Future’ workshop and learn the techniques to let go of the issues once and for all.  You don’t need to share any information with anyone else at the workshops and you work through your own issues in confidence.  Our next course is held March 20-21 on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.  For more info visit: http://www.lifechangingsolutions.com.au/workshops.html Early Bird tickets are still available but you need to act quickly.

Ask yourself, how much longer do you need to carry around that emotional baggage?  Or is it now time to let it go and create a 2010 that works for you in all areas of life.

A quick visit to the above website or a call to 1300 388875 is all it takes.

Give us 7 days & we’ll Give You the Secret to making 2010 Your Year!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Have you ever felt that you have more to give?

Are you passionate about helping others?

Feel like you know the principles of emotional, and spiritual growth but lack some of the tools?

Change pushes us outside our comfort zone, so why do we do it? It’s all about growth and development. But we can’t grow if we don’t learn, we can’t learn if we don’t experience and we can’t experience if we don’t move forward.

Are you one of those people who push the boundaries, enjoy challenges, learn, grow and develop? It seems to some like a hard path to follow but when you look back on your life, recalling all of the challenges and obstacles you have overcome it gives you an overwhelming sense of empowerment.

“I know that I am in control of my own life again.  You have truly given me a gift”  Angela Taylor, Brisbane, Australia

There is now a ‘science of change’. Yes that’s right, personal change has been studied in detail for the last 35 years.  That science is called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).  NLP is the toolbox that allows you to create change in any area of your life permanently and rapidly. NLP can be applied in your daily life to create positive change in your health, your relationships as well as your business.  Not only that, we use it to assist others to work through their most difficult challenges with ease.

  • Get back your motivation & direction
  • Create positive change in your life permanently & rapidly
  • Overcome anger, anxiety, fears & phobias
  • Increase your income
  • Improve your heal & fitness & switch on healing
  • Get rid of doubts & limiting beliefs
  • Build rapport, mediate & negotiation with anyone

If you can relate to any of this, you may have what it takes to be a successful practitioner of NLP, coaching others to let go of their ‘emotional baggage’ and breakthrough the barriers that have held them back for so long.  As a practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming you will be able to achieve all this and more.  Attend our fun, exciting, practical NLP course on the Gold Coast.  After working through your pre-study kit and attending a seven day course you can be certified as an NLP Practitioner, NLP Coach, Time Line TherapyTM Practitioner and Hypnotherpist. Join our next course February 15 – 21, 2010 on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and learn how to change the fast way.

The Secret to Feeling Fabulous Everyday

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Is it really possible to feel fabulous everyday?  Absolutely!

So what is it I do exactly?

Well big picture – imagine you wanted a new bathroom, what’s the first thing you would do?  That’s right – you would take out all the old fittings.  Well that is what I do – I help you to resolve all those horrible past issues and emotions quickly and easily, so you can reach your true potential and live a fabulous life.

I regularly see people who suffer from anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorders, anger management, stress management, phobias and children with ADHD.  In fact there are so many different issues that these techniques can help.

After you explain your problem either in person or over the phone, I ask a series of specific questions to discover the core underlying issues.  I then teach you the techniques to release those issues. We then test and make sure the problem’s gone.

There is now a lot of research in the area of psycho-neuro-immunology, which demonstrates that holding on to negative emotions adversely affects your health.  When people realise this they want to let go old emotional baggage now and start living again.

This is a very fast process, for example, a phobia normally takes less than an hour.  Anger management issues can take between one to two hours.  A personal break-through session covering all aspects of life can take 8 to 10 hours.  So it is really quick and the changes are amazing.

I’m a Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy™, Coaching and Hypnosis.  I teach people how to let go of their old emotional baggage and remove obstacles so they feel good about themselves and achieve exactly what they want.

Speed Networking with NLP!

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

A number of my colleagues and friends have been going to ‘speed networking as a way of quickly ‘sifting’ through potential customers to see if they can find the ‘one’ that might make the difference to their business life.

As an NLP Practitioner and Trainer, they asked me for some advice to make their time at speed networking more efficient.

This is what I had to offer on the subject:

You need to build rapport as quickly as possible.   Sounds simple?  Then why aren’t people doing it as quickly as a person trained in NLP can?

So what is rapport?

People do business with people they like….

Rapport is a process of responsiveness.  It means that if you are ‘like’ another person, they are more likely to ‘like’ you.  Have you ever been to a party and within minutes of meeting someone they say, ‘wow I feel like I’ve known you forever!’ Well that is an indication you are in rapport.

How do you get it?

You need to covertly match and mirror the person’s body language, breathing, tone of voice and if possible using similar words to them.  Do they speak quickly or more slowly?  If you match what they are doing, they will see something in you that is like them.

And I mean covertly!

I often hear people referring to rapport in NLP as ‘mimicking’ and it is certainly not that.  If you mimic someone you will lose rapport and end up achieving nothing out of your speed networking experience.

Learning how to build rapport quickly can help you in all kinds of situations from securing business deals to getting your proposal accepted easily and effortlessly.  How much business are you missing out on?  Find out how one of our graduates increased turnover by 300-400%

NLP Couples Therapy

Monday, September 7th, 2009

When people ask me about using NLP for couples therapy, the first thing I ask is, ‘is this relationship worth saving?’.  If it is then there are a number of NLP and Time Line™ Therapy techniques that can help couples reconnect their love strategy, relationship values and begin communicating in a resourceful and loving way.

What if the answer however is ‘No, this relationship isn’t worth saving!” ?

You know being honest with yourself about what you want out of a relationship is the first step towards having the relationship you really want and need.  All too often I hear about people who stay in unresourceful or unhappy relationships because the perceived pain of leaving is too much to contemplate.   The question I’d like to ask is this….  When did it become okay for us to remain in a relationship where our needs are not being met?  How often do you hear of older couples wishing they had the guts to leave the relationship and spend their remaining years in a passionate and exciting relationship?

Regardless of whether you stay and make it work or leave and make it work, NLP techniques can help you make the transition easier emotionally.

The first thing you need to do is be clear about what it is you want in a relationship.  You probably already know what you don’t want – so stop focusing on that and focus on what you do want.  Once you have that list of wants and needs – look at your current relationship and decide together if the relationship is worth saving and if each partner can meet the other’s needs. If the answer is no, then you can support each other in the decision and move towards what you do want in an amicable way.

NLP Buying Strategies

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Do you or someone you know spend money on things you or they don’t need?  Are you a person that buys and buys and can’t help yourself?  If yes, you wouldn’t be alone there and NLP Strategy techniques could be just what you need.

Some people have a buying strategy that results in them buying stuff they don’t need – the good news is that you can do something about it.

Did you know that we have strategies for everything we do in life?  A strategy is simply the steps we use inside our minds in the process of doing something.

We have strategies for sex, love, buying, selling, decision making, motivation, spelling, learning and many more.

Using NLP Strategy techniques, imagine how powerful it would be if you could work out someone’s strategy for buying for example and then use this strategy when you are selling them a product.  Of course I only advocate selling something to someone that they actually need!

How about being able to work out your boss’s decision making strategy and then use this anytime you want to get a decision that goes in your favour?  Would that be of value?

What about being able to teach students how to use an NLP Spelling Strategy so they can recall words and spell them easily and effortlessly.  Wouldn’t it be great to teach them how to recall maths formulas and science information?

I teach couples NLP Strategies and how to utilise each other’s love strategy and sex strategy so they can reconnect and put some ‘zing’ back into their relationship.

How are your strategies?

We teach this and many more NLP techniques in our 7 Day NLP Practitioner Course.  At the end of the 7 days, you walk away with four certifications:

  1. NLP Practitioner
  2. NLP Coach
  3. Time Line® Practitioner
  4. Hypnotherapist
