Do you have doubts about your future?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Do you have doubts about your ability to achieve what you want in your career?

Do you have doubts about being able to make enough money?

Do you ever underestimate your own abilities?

Do you sometimes look at what you want in the future, and then doubt your ability to achieve it?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of those then you are certainly not alone.

Over time we all have doubts about ourselves, our ability to make money, our skills and about being able to achieve our goals.

Doubts are basically limiting beliefs that we create that result in limiting ourselves and therefore our results.  The good news is that we are in control of whether we doubt ourselves or whether we believe in ourselves.  What isn’t immediately obvious is that seconds before we felt that doubt we actually made an unconscious decision to doubt the very thing we most want.

What’s great about that is we can do something about it.  Using the process of Time Line Therapy™ we can easily adopt new resourceful beliefs that can help us achieve what we want out of our lives.

Think about this ….  Once upon a time you were 12 years old and you believed you were a 12 year old.  Now that you are no longer 12 years old, where is that belief?  That’s right – it no longer exists.  So beliefs are changeable from moment to moment.  I used to believe I couldn’t drive a car until I got my licence and now I believe I can.

How powerful would it be to be able to remove doubts or beliefs that limit you in some way?  Would it be of value to learn how to control those beliefs and start living your life the way you want it without those doubts.

Well that is exactly what I do!  I help people remove the obstacles including self doubt that stands in their way of having their life the way they want it.  The techniques are fun, quick and easy to do.

NLP Couples Therapy

Monday, September 7th, 2009

When people ask me about using NLP for couples therapy, the first thing I ask is, ‘is this relationship worth saving?’.  If it is then there are a number of NLP and Time Line™ Therapy techniques that can help couples reconnect their love strategy, relationship values and begin communicating in a resourceful and loving way.

What if the answer however is ‘No, this relationship isn’t worth saving!” ?

You know being honest with yourself about what you want out of a relationship is the first step towards having the relationship you really want and need.  All too often I hear about people who stay in unresourceful or unhappy relationships because the perceived pain of leaving is too much to contemplate.   The question I’d like to ask is this….  When did it become okay for us to remain in a relationship where our needs are not being met?  How often do you hear of older couples wishing they had the guts to leave the relationship and spend their remaining years in a passionate and exciting relationship?

Regardless of whether you stay and make it work or leave and make it work, NLP techniques can help you make the transition easier emotionally.

The first thing you need to do is be clear about what it is you want in a relationship.  You probably already know what you don’t want – so stop focusing on that and focus on what you do want.  Once you have that list of wants and needs – look at your current relationship and decide together if the relationship is worth saving and if each partner can meet the other’s needs. If the answer is no, then you can support each other in the decision and move towards what you do want in an amicable way.

NLP Buying Strategies

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Do you or someone you know spend money on things you or they don’t need?  Are you a person that buys and buys and can’t help yourself?  If yes, you wouldn’t be alone there and NLP Strategy techniques could be just what you need.

Some people have a buying strategy that results in them buying stuff they don’t need – the good news is that you can do something about it.

Did you know that we have strategies for everything we do in life?  A strategy is simply the steps we use inside our minds in the process of doing something.

We have strategies for sex, love, buying, selling, decision making, motivation, spelling, learning and many more.

Using NLP Strategy techniques, imagine how powerful it would be if you could work out someone’s strategy for buying for example and then use this strategy when you are selling them a product.  Of course I only advocate selling something to someone that they actually need!

How about being able to work out your boss’s decision making strategy and then use this anytime you want to get a decision that goes in your favour?  Would that be of value?

What about being able to teach students how to use an NLP Spelling Strategy so they can recall words and spell them easily and effortlessly.  Wouldn’t it be great to teach them how to recall maths formulas and science information?

I teach couples NLP Strategies and how to utilise each other’s love strategy and sex strategy so they can reconnect and put some ‘zing’ back into their relationship.

How are your strategies?

We teach this and many more NLP techniques in our 7 Day NLP Practitioner Course.  At the end of the 7 days, you walk away with four certifications:

  1. NLP Practitioner
  2. NLP Coach
  3. Time Line® Practitioner
  4. Hypnotherapist

NLP Anchoring – Control your emotional state!

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Imagine if you could be in charge of your emotional state each and every day.  Would it be useful to be able to call on command an internal emotional state that is powerful, motivating, confident, empowering at anytime you needed it?

Working with clients, students and graduates of our courses, I get asked a lot about the concept of NLP Anchoring and does it really work.

The answer is a definite ‘yes’

What is an anchor?  Well your alarm clock is an anchor – sometimes you wake up seconds before it goes off – yes you know you do that!  Songs are anchors – you know that certain song that reminds you of a wonderful event in your past, maybe at high school or the first kiss etc.  Hearing the words, ‘Well done’ – can be an anchor – it simply evokes an emotional state, either happy or not.  What about the words, ‘I love you’ – what kind of emotions do they evoke inside?

Using the concept of ‘anchoring’ we teach our students and clients how to be in control of their emotional state at anytime.  So if you are going for a job interview or presenting to the Management team, you can easily control your internal emotional state so you walk in there totally confident, totally motivated and totally in control.

Anchoring is easy to learn and easy to implement. We teach this and many more NLP techniques in our 7 Day NLP Practitioner Course.  At the end of the 7 days, you walk away with four certifications:

  1. NLP Practitioner
  2. NLP Coach
  3. Time Line Therapy® Practitioner
  4. Hypnotherapist

The great news is there is still spots available on the September 10-16 course at the Gold Coast.  For more information on seminars, courses and coaching, call 1300 388875, or visit www.lifechangingsolutions.com.au

Kids Anxiety? NLP Can Help

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

Kids can get anxious about many many things.  Exam anxiety, school anxiety, anxiety about friends and family to name a few.  And I don’t just mean young kids.  Young adults also get anxious, especially when it comes to fitting in socially and also around exam time.

When a child or adult feels anxiety or is anxious about something it is simply a warning from their unconscious mind that they are focusing on what they don’t want or something going wrong.  Of course, they don’t understand that but you will as an adult.  Try this out for a moment.  Try and be anxious about something in your past that went really well.  You can’t!

Using the NLP Anxiety model and a variety of NLP techniques, I show kids how to start focusing on what they do want and how to let go of anxiety and fear.  The actual process for anxiety only takes a few minutes to teach them.  The sessions are fun and quick as kids are usually very quick at picking up the techniques.  Mum and Dad also get a quick lesson so that they can keep the anxiety technique going once they leave my office.

Watching a child let go of anxiety is a wonderful experience for everyone concerned, including me.

I run these sessions either in person, over the phone or they can be done via Skype – the kids love that by the way!

Anxiety Treatment with NLP

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I worked with a client who had been suffering anxiety for about 6 years and it was seriously affecting his home life.  When he came to see me, he had three panic attacks before I was able to get him to sit down to start the NLP techniques.  Three hours later, he had let go of all his emotional baggage, including fear and then I taught him a simple NLP Anxiety Model.  As a result he was able to let go of his anxiety and start focusing on what he wanted out of life.  On his way out of my office, he told me he was going to take his wife and two kids out for dinner for the first time in two years.  What was that worth do you think?

When a person feels anxiety or is anxious about something it is simply a warning from their unconscious mind that they are focusing on what they don’t want or something going wrong.  Try this out for a moment.  Try and be anxious about something in your past that went really well.  You can’t!

Using the NLP Anxiety model and a variety of NLP techniques, I show people how to start focusing on what they do want and how to let go of anxiety.  The actual process only takes a few minutes to teach you.  What you need to do is to want to let it go and then leave the rest to me.

What is your anxiety preventing you from doing, having and being?  Why not see what life looks like once you have let your anxiety go.

Spelling Improvement with NLP

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I’m not sure if you are aware of this but did you know that we have a strategy for the way we spell words?  A spelling strategy is simply a process we do in our head, unconsciously in the process of trying to spell a word.

Adults and kids can improve their spelling ability dramatically in as little as 30 minutes using NLP Spelling Strategies.  It sounds too good to be true so we guarantee our results.  Many young people have adopted an unresourceful strategy for spelling and if not picked up early and corrected, it can lead to major spelling issues later in life.

I use these techniques with my own five year old daughter and she can already spell words well beyond expectations of her year level.  That in itself is worth more than the money I paid to become an NLP Trainer and Coach!

Can you imagine the confidence your child will have when they improve their spelling words each week?  I know as a Mum, I love to see and hear my children improving and enjoying what they are learning.

This NLP technique also helps children who suffer from learning difficulties.  It is simply about showing them how to adopt a new and easy strategy for learning.  The results are amazing and the children begin to feel empowered again at school.

‘Past Events’ – A different Perspective

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Imagine what it would be like if you could see past events from a different perspective, learn something new and let go of any emotions that you don’t like or don’t help you. Wouldn’t it be of value to learn how to do this easily and as often as you needed to?
I regularly coach and teach people how to reduce or let go of an unwanted negative emotion experienced when they think of a past minor event or memory.
When pictures of past events or experiences are strongly linked with negative emotions such as frustration, annoyance and disappointment, we often protect ourselves from re-experiencing them, which prevents us learning from those experiences.
There is a really easy technique that you can use to separate the images of the experience from the feelings about the experience, so that you can easily learn from the event and move towards what you want. It is called the V/K Technique and is so simple to do.
First I’d like you to think of a minor event that bothers you. Maybe something that made you a little annoyed, frustrated or uneasy.
See the event through your own eyes and notice the emotion. If you can’t feel the emotion it probably doesn’t bother you anymore, so pick another event.
Now ‘imagine’ floating up above your body and seeing the event as if you were looking down on yourself, way down there. Make sure you can see yourself in the picture. If you are imagining yourself ‘looking down’ on the scene below, you won’t be able to feel the emotion. That’s a great start.
Now run the scene back on forth until you learn something new or something not previously remembered from this perspective. What are you seeing now that you didn’t see before?
Notice that the emotion has gone or at least lessened.
How can you incorporate this in your everyday life? Use it over the next week on minor events that bother you. It’s a great technique – I love it.
Have a look at www.lifechangingsolutions.com.au/workshops for more information on how the Design Your Future weekend seminar can teach you how to improve your business, personal lives, health and relationships.

NLP Circle of Empowerment

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

An important part of NLP is teaching people how they can be in control of their emotional state at any time which gives them total control over their personal empowerment.
How valuable would it be to be able to put yourself into a positive and intensely resourceful state at any time? Imagine if you could quickly change your state even if you wake up feeling ‘grumpy’ or ‘despondent’.

The following ‘Circle of Empowerment’ is adapted from ‘The Circle of Excellence’ originally developed by Dr. John Grinder co-creator of NLP. Circle of Empowerment is a basic process which can be used to elicit, create and stabilise desired emotional states in you.

Circle of Empowerment Technique
1. Imagine a circle
2. Remember specific experiences where you felt either powerful, creative, confident, excited or energised
3. Using one state at a time, see what you saw, hear what you heard and feel the feelings of being totally [whichever state you chose e.g. powerful, creative]
4. When the feelings become strong, step into the circle, wait 5 seconds (maintaining the emotion).
5. Step back out of the circle
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4, adding other different resourceful states. [The more powerful the states the better!]
7. When you step back into the space you will be able re-access the positive feelings and emotional states you placed in there.
8. You can take this imaginary circle and use it whenever you need to, or you can set up circles in specific places in your home or business (no one would even know you have done it!)
When you want to access these state, just imagine the circle on the floor in front of you and step in. You will feel the states build within 5-10 seconds.
Imagine where you could utilise the circle of empowerment? Before you give that important speech at work or maybe before you walk into a social situation? Teachers can even use this as a fun way of students gaining control of their emotions.

The above technique is a very small part of NLP ‘Anchoring’, that teach you about emotional state control and is included in the NLP Practitioner 7 day certification training. Check out www.lifechangingsolutions.com.au
